Our client wanted a contemporary family home that took advantage of the fantastic open views down the valley to the south. Taking the materiality of a stone barn with a metal roof as our inspiration we worked with the client, the Vale of Glamorgan planning department and the Design Commission for Wales to secure planning in this tricky countryside site.

The house has been built using an off-site manufactured timberframe clad in stone on the ground floor and patinated copper to the first, with a dark zinc roof.

The project was completed May 2022.
