This elegant 1930s Art Deco house in Penarth was in poor condition and needed complete renovation in order to bring it up to modern standards. Our proposal was to remove the somewhat unsympathetic 1970s forward extension, reinstate the ground floor corner window and build a new two storey side extension set back from the main facade, more in keeping with the original architects' intent.
The retained parts of the existing house will be upgraded using white rendered external wall insulation, while the perished roofs will be replaced with modern well insulated single ply membrane surfaces. The poor replacement double glazing will be renewed with high quality aluminium composite windows. This is now on site with completion expected in the autumn of 2020.
