Park Road
Client: Stephen Jones and Rebecca Evans
Value: Approximately £900,000

The clients owned this plot of land in Penarth for a couple of years and explored the possibility of a very contemporary new house in the conservation area. Eventually deciding they wanted something more traditional, we were asked to design a two storey house which would sit into the landscape, whilst taking maximum advantage of the fine views over the Severn to the East. The design is contemporary with clear horizontal lines underneath a large slate roof with large overhanging eaves. The materials of buff brick and stonework are chosen to tie in with the conservation area materials along the road.

The house is simple in plan with a large double height hall and stairs and the main rooms off to one side, which open out onto the garden and a large patio to the South. Upstairs there are four bedrooms (with ensuites), two of which open onto a generous roof terrace to take maximise the views over the roof tops of the houses beyond the garden. Planning was received July 2016 and the project was completed in autumn 2017.
