When the existing Grade 2 listed hotel in a 'Strawberry Gothic' style was bought by our clients, it was stuck in the 1970s.  Their ambition was to upgrade it to boutique hotel standard. The facilities were totally upgraded over four years and the existing redundant pool was turned into a function room.

By opening up the existing building and reconfiguring the space to make it double-height, we have created a lovely new room which links back to the hotel via a courtyard to the new reception. A new toilet block was created by digging under the stable block to create improved guest facilities, kept separate from the new back of house laundry block.

This project has been shortlisted for the Construction Industry Wales award for Rejuvenation and Preservation, and has won numerous boutique hotel awards since its completion.
