The large rear garden of this Victorian terraced house in leafy St Albans currently includes a large double garage. Our client has asked us to design a contemporary new Mews style home to replace the garage, with open plan living on the ground floor, three good sized bedrooms and space for two cars in a front courtyard. The materials are slate, render and composite fenestration with a sedum roof over the extended dining room zone and a lightweight form of construction is envisaged to avoid damaging a listed Monkey Puzzle tree in the middle of the garden.
